Anti-social Ironman?

I realize I missed out on a lot of the great tri-blogger activities, but I think I have a good reason. On Friday, 3 friends from my tri-team surprised me by flying up to Idaho unannounced to support my race. I was incredibly moved by the gesture (I shed more than one tear throughout the weekend) and wound up spending the time with them. Still, it was great meeting you all at the Thursday dinner and seeing some of you along the course, both racing and cheering us on. Go Tri-Bloggers!

I kept seeing those guys with the blow up whale that said "Go Wedgie!" Those must have been your buds.

Me too...great job of "sherpa-ing" they did!
Were you interviewed on the news at one point? I thought I saw a camera on you before the race!

Yup! That was them. I had another friend doing the race and his wife and her family all came out to support him. He had a really big cheering section which I was able to latch onto a bit, but then I got my own supporters as well!

It was great to meet you on Thursday. Did you get your M-Dot tattoo yet?

My parents were unable to make the trip to CDA this year. I was pretty bummed. I was almost mad, but I knew there would be tons of Team TriBlogger and Sherpas there. You all made the experience one of a kind!! I don't know if we can beat that?

I agree with everyone. Meeting you Thursday was great!! I did wonder what happened to you after that but I know that an Ironman brings a lot more than just a "race". Glad you had a great time, thrilled you had some more unexpected support out there! LOVE the Tat!!
